This week’s Surprise Millionaire is a quiet, retired teacher in Glasgow Scotland. When Grahame Pincock age 90 passed away in 2017, his friends and neighbors were shocked to learn that the unassuming bachelor had secretly amassed a seven million pound estate through thriftiness and investing. Mr. Pincock chose to bless his community by leaving hundreds of thousands to cancer charities as well as setting up a separate trust to help those in need.
We have had one or two other Surprise Millionaires from Scotland in recent memory. I think all of those stories about the “thrifty scots” just might be true!
Greetings from British Columbia, Canada
We are Canadian citizens and subjects and are proud Scottish Canadians. We are Clan Duncan. We are chock a block full of Scots here in Canada, especially where we live.
There is much truth to all this. Allows us to give back to the communities that have given us so much later on.
Love the posts.

Thank you Michael. I am a proud Scottish American myself! Many say we Scots – Irish built America. If that is true, I’m sure thriftiness played a major part!! Thanks Again!
Forgot to list my Clan affiliation – Clan MacDowall/Clan MacDougall.
