With all of the negativity in the news this week, I thought it would be a great time to focus on someone who is doing good in the world. A self-made and some would say, Surprise Millionaire who is giving back to his community and wants to change America one neighborhood at a time.
Doesn’t make the 1% seem so evil, does it?
Actually, the thing that is most striking is people talking about him giving them hope. Any one of these neighborhoods could throw out the drug dealers and the gangs, open shops and businesses, and make their community safe and prosperous by putting their time into things that make their lives better. If everyone would just put in the effort needed to take care of their own needs and those of their family, their level of wealth would grow tremendously. The trouble is that a lot of people in these neighborhoods have lost hope and lost dignity. Having people tell them that their plight is all due to racism and that the police are enemies doesn’t help.
We need to find ways for people to get those things back. A welfare check does not lead them on the right path.
