Interesting article! I went to the CPI calculator to see how much $50,000 in 1926 would be worth today. It looks like it’s the equivalent of $682,000 – that must have been a huge amount for a woman of that time. And the $20 for her sister would be worth $272. I wonder what her sister did to make her do that?
That is a good question regarding the sister. I can only assume there was some bad blood between them.
